The Space between Us - my warm breath on your hands

Sandblasted glass, performance, video installation

Relying on a simple sand blasted glass sheet
A single barrier between the one holding it and the performer licking it

The performance cannot happen without consent
But once engaged, comes the responsability towards the performer

Challenging the usual inter-personal space we maintain,
the behaviours we follow and allow from others
Art leads us to accept and encounter what we usually would not
Reconsider the usual
Questioning behaviours we have towards others

Work realized in collaboration with Inge van Genuchten, Nadja van der Weide, and Elze Vermaas ;
during the ART&RESEARCH honours programme organised by the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and UvA
